Every St. Simon parent and staff member is a part of PFO. We help to foster a sense of community amongst parents and staff by facilitating committees and organizing volunteers. Our mission is to further enhance and enrich our children’s education at St. Simon while teaching our children the importance of giving back to our community through ministry type contributions. The money raised through fund-raising efforts is used to purchase items that are needed to round out the superior curriculum already offered at St. Simon School.
The PFO raises money through family donations, the Annual School Fundraiser (the PFO’s largest event), the Effortless Fundraising Program (more details below), and other PFO sponsored events throughout the year.
What does the PFO do with its money? The PFO works from an annual budget in which funds raised are allocated between school improvements, curriculum enhancements, Carnival, faculty grants, the Royal Rally, teacher luncheons, Teacher Appreciation Week, scholarships, new student t-shirts and more. The PFO hopes to raise approximately $85,000 during the 2021-2022 school year.
The PFO is ALWAYS looking for parents to volunteer for event committees or to assist or join the PFO Board. Email the PFO at PFO@SAINTSIMON.ORG, sign up through the Volunteer Page or submit a form in the feedback section of the Contact Us page.

Bio:
We have been part of the St. Simon family for 7 years. I also have three little brothers, Aidan Cunningham (Freshman – Cathedral), Kellan + Dane Cunningham (5th grade – St. Simon). This is my first year as Co-President for St. Simon PFO. Previous roles have included Room Parent, Field Trip Chaperone, and I am currently coaching 4th grade cheerleading. I was born and raised in Indiana and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I attended St. Lawrence grade school, graduated from Cathedral High School in 1998, then studied Psychology at Indiana University. I own an in-home pet sitting business, HappyTails Pet Sitting, which I started in 2008 and my husband and I recently began a business flipping houses.
I joined the PFO because I wanted to seek a way to stay involved and make a difference in my kid’s daily lives at school. It has been an easy and fun way to feel part of the community and feel at ease with the place and the people my children spend most of their day. While we may differ in our employment status and/or the amount of time we have to give, our dedication to our school is the same. St. Simon PFO serves as an active partner with the faculty and staff to optimize our children’s educational experience and promote a positive environment. I’m really looking forward to a great year ahead!
